Health & Social Care - Advanced Apprenticeship

The Health & Social Care Advanced Apprenticeship is a training and education programme combining a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3, Technical Certificate and Key Skills with employment within nursing or residential care across Merseyside.

The programme offers learners the opportunity to work with adult clients across all age groups to provide basic nursing and social care but gaining more experience and knowledge enabling the practice of more specialised care such as:

  • Administration of medication
  • Monitoring blood pressure, pulse and temperature
  • Taking capillary blood samples
  • PEG feeds
  • Care planning and reviews
  • Team leadership
  • Assisting registered nurses, GP's and other professionals such as physiotherapists

Delivery

The programme will be delivered over a 15-18 month period and will be a mixture of teaching and training in the workplace and training sessions at Alder Training, delivered by Alder Training's experienced and professional assessors and supported by workplace managers.

Achievement

Upon successful completion of this programme you will achieve an Advanced Apprenticeship in Health & Social Care which will qualify you to Supervisory / Management status and assist you progress further with your career.

Opportunities

Following the achievement of the programme you will be able to progress onto further learning opportunities such as Further Education or Higher Education and will be encouraged and supported to do so. There will also be exciting opportunities for progression into employment within the sector:
