Dental Nursing - Advanced Apprenticeship

The Dental Nursing Advanced Apprenticeship Programme is a training and education programme designed for learners who have successfully completed their dental nurse Apprenticeship - or have significant work experience and would like to progress further within the dental profession and become a qualified dental nurse.

The programme includes such topics as:

  • Dental charting
  • Orthodontic charting
  • Radiographs
  • Restorations
  • Periodontal disease
  • Advanced Health & Safety
  • Sterilisation and Disinfection
  • Oral health education
  • Equality & diversity
  • Prosthetics
  • Endodontics
  • Practical sessions

Delivery

The programme will be delivered over an 18-24 month period and will include a full-time work placement or employment in a dental surgery. It will be a mix of real work experience and teaching and training sessions delivered by Alder Training's experienced and professional training managers and supported by your dentist.

Achievement

Upon successful completion of this programme you will achieve an Advanced Apprenticeship in Oral Healthcare and be employed within the sector. We will work with you to prepare you for further progression in your career.
