Foundation Learning

Foundation Learning is a training and education programme designed to equip young people with the skills and knowledge that will help them become independent, self-motivated and ready for employment. It is a programme that offers learners the opportunity to be supported individually and to try an occupational area, to see if it is the right vocation for them.

Foundation Learning is learner-focused and recognises that individuals are unique, learn at different paces and require different levels of support. It provides a framework that is flexible, allows different starting points and above all choice. It's all about breaking down the barriers that prevent so many people from continuing their learning journey.

Foundation Learning is a new way to provide personalised learning programmes for young people and adults working at Entry level and level 1. It helps you develop your potential and prepares you to progress towards Apprenticeships and other routes.

Alder Training offer individual personalised learning programmes that cover a range of subjects to suit your learning and development needs:

  • Functional skills in IT, Literacy and Numeracy at both entry 3 and level 1
  • Employability and Personal and Social Development at entry 3 and level 1
  • Vocational qualifications in Childcare, Health & Social Care and Dental Nursing
