A recruitment, training and employment initiative which has been run in partnership between Alder Training, Knowsley Community College, Jobcentre Plus and the Strategic Health Authority has been hailed a success.
The Ambition Health project recruited unemployed individuals from Liverpool and Knowsley and trained them to become dental nurses. None of the individuals had any dental nursing experience, yet within six months of starting the project all of the individuals had full-time jobs in dental surgeries and achieved their NVQ 2.
