Childcare - Entry to Employment (e2e) (Childcare)

Content
This is a training and education programme designed to equip young people with the skills and knowledge that will help them become independent, self-motivated and ready for employment.

The programme also offers you the opportunity to be supported individually and to try childcare, to see if it’s the right vocation for you.

The programme covers children from birth to 16 years and includes such topics as:

	Keeping children safe
	Supporting children’s development
	Supporting children’s play and learning
	Supporting routines for children
	Encouraging children’s positive behaviour

There is also some generic training which include such topics as:

	Basic & Key Skills
	Confidence Building
	Personal Development Training
	IT
	Citizenship
	Team building exercises
	Interview & Workplace Skills

Delivery
The programme will be delivered over a 22 week period and will include a part-time placement within a childcare setting. It will be a mixture of real work experience and teaching and training sessions, delivered by Alder Training’s experienced and professional training managers and supported by childcare settings across Merseyside.

Achievement
Upon successful completion of this programme you will achieve an outcome which will be individual to you. Successful completion of the programme may enable you to gain a place on the Apprenticeship programme and help you progress your career further.
